247dermatologist set out to make specialist dermatology accessible without the long waiting times of traditional care.
The service needed to work for two very different users. Patients had to be able to submit a case, upload skin photos, receive medical guidance and communicate with a dermatologist from one application. Doctors needed a clear internal workspace where they could review each case, understand its history and respond without switching between disconnected systems.
There was also a strict operational requirement. Patients should receive a medical response within 12 to 48 hours, depending on the consultation they selected.
The platform needed to support the full consultation process:
The goal was not simply to build an app. It was to create the operational system behind a working digital dermatology service.
Coding Partners built both sides of the platform.
For patients, we created the application used to submit dermatology cases, upload photos, receive assessments and treatment plans, and continue communicating with their dermatologist.
For the medical team, we built an internal doctor dashboard that brings the information required to handle a consultation into one place.
Doctors can review patient photos, read the case history, document their assessment, maintain the medical record, communicate with the patient and manage the treatment process without moving between separate tools.
Response time is a core part of the 247dermatologist service.
The doctor dashboard was designed to make waiting time visible inside the clinical workflow. Doctors can immediately see which requests have been open the longest and prioritize cases before they move outside the expected response window.
This helped turn the 12 to 48 hour promise from a customer-facing message into something the medical team could actively manage inside the product.
One of the more complex parts of the project was adapting the workflow to support Dutch prescriptions.
Coding Partners worked through the requirements and added prescription handling to the clinical workflow so doctors could move from assessment to treatment without breaking the digital consultation process.
The result is a connected system where the patient experience and the internal medical workflow operate as two sides of the same product.
The platform gave 247dermatologist a single digital workflow for managing consultations from the first patient submission through to medical assessment, communication and treatment.
The strongest impact can be seen in how efficiently consultations now move through that workflow.
The internal platform gives doctors one place to see the information they need while also making the age and urgency of every open request visible.
Bringing photos, patient history, communication, medical documentation and prescription handling into the same workflow reduced the amount of coordination required around each consultation.
Instead of treating the patient application and the medical operation as separate systems, both now work as part of the same consultation journey.
The product now supports the core promise of 247dermatologist: giving patients direct access to a dermatologist and returning an assessment within a defined response window.
The platform also provides the technical and operational foundation for the service to continue handling consultations as the number of patients and doctors grows.
